Nuttari Terrace Street

沼垂テラス商店街

Step into old-world Japan at Nuttari Terrace Street, a stylish shopping street of lovingly restored row houses harking back to Niigata’s historical roots.

A 20-minute stroll from Niigata Station brings you to Nuttari Terrace Street, a stylish and retro shopping street nestled in an area steeped in maritime history. The transformation began in 2010, when businesses started gradually renovating disused market row houses, and by the spring of 2015, each had gained new life as a vibrant shop.

Nowadays, Nuttari Terrace Street beckons travelers with an enticing array of around 30 boutiques, including quaint cafes, knick-knack stores, and artisan studios specializing in pottery and glasswork. Immerse yourself in this unique blend of culture, people, and spaces, and feel the spirit of old-school Japan.
