新潟市マンガの家Discover the works of gag manga artists connected with Niigata. Inside are life-size character figures, a room packed with around 10,000 manga to read for free, manga-making workshops, and more.
The Niigata City Manga House immerses visitors in the world of works by gag manga artists associated with Niigata. This includes Fujio Akatsuka, the renowned author of “Osomatsu-kun” and “Tensai Bakabon,” along with Mineo Maya and his definitive works like "Patalliro!" Visitors can snap photos striking classic character poses, as well as view life-size character figures, and enjoy lots of other engaging exhibits.
Plus, daily manga workshops (in Japanese only) are available to join without reservations. There’s also a Manga Room where you can dive into approximately 10,000 "essential works in manga history" selected by facility staff. This makes it an absolute must-visit for manga enthusiasts!
