Mikurabashi Bridge

見倉橋

In autumn, the Mikurabashi Bridge pops out against the colorful foliage, becoming the gem of the tiny village of Akiyamago. It’s the perfect vantage point to enjoy views of the Nakatsugawa Valley painted in autumn hues!

The Mikurabashi Bridge is a beautiful wooden suspension bridge nestled in the remote Nakatsugawa Valley in Akiyamago. It blends seamlessly with the encompassing nature, earning it the title the “gem of Akiyamago,” as well as a spot among the “50 Best Bridges of Niigata.” Crossing the swaying bridge may require a touch of bravery, but fear not—it is well maintained to ensure safety. The vistas from the bridge are nothing short of spectacular, flaunting the dynamic natural wonder of the valley. Come autumn, the valley becomes a canvas of red, orange, and yellow, typically peaking from mid-October to early November.
