Day Camping on the Snow and Pancake Making

雪上デイキャンプ・パンケーキづくり体験

Make your own pancakes with homemade maple syrup and rice flour within the snow-filled Niigata forest. Maple syrup made with sap you gathered yourself tastes sublime!

Painted maples’ trunks produce lots of sap to keep them from freezing in the frigid winters. During this tour, you will wear snowshoes to walk through the snowy forest and collect sap for making maple syrup.
After collecting the sap, you will get to enjoy day camping with a fire atop the snow.
Boil down the sap you collected to make homemade maple syrup, which you can use to dress fresh, hot pancakes made with organic Koshihikari rice flour locally produced in Uonuma for a tasty delight.
On clear days, you can even see out to the Echigo Sanzan mountain range, which is sure to raise your mood even further.
