塩沢つむぎ記念館

The Shiozawa Tsumugi Museum plays a central role in showcasing the techniques and culture associated with traditional Shiozawa textiles. Echigo Jofu fabrics have existed in this region for over a millenium and traditional weaving techniques that have been preserved are registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Varieties of these luxury garments and the traditional fabrics use to make them are on display, and it is also possible to try traditional weaving techniques and machinery here yourself.
