Tagami Plum Park
⽥上町梅林公園The pink blossoms of plum trees in Tagami are an early sign of spring in Niigata! Immerse yourself in the beauty and fragrance of around 2,000 dainty blooming plum trees.
Tagami is one of Niigata Prefecture’s top plum-producing areas. The town’s Plum Park and surrounding plum fields are home to around 2,000 plum trees, which typically bloom around mid-March. In the crisp early spring air, the pink, white, red, and weeping plums, along with the local variety “Koshi no Ume,” flaunt their colors beautifully. Stroll through the hillside plum fields enveloped in their sweet fragrance, and climb the nearby hill for breathtaking panoramic views. The annual Tagami Plum Festival is held to celebrate, featuring a photo contest and special bento meal made with local ingredients (reservation required).
