Kubiki Cycling Road

久比岐自転車道

Pedal your way along a stunning coastal route that hugs the serene Sea of Japan, while the gentle sea breeze caresses your senses.

The Kubiki Cycling Road, an enchanting cycling trail crafted from a former railway line, stretches languorously for 32 kilometers, meandering between the picturesque Joetsu City and Itoigawa City. Here, cyclists are treated to the breathtaking panorama of the Sea of Japan, where on clear days, you can even catch glimpses of Sado Island and the Noto Peninsula on the horizon. What makes this journey even more captivating is the preservation of history. Along the path, some of the tunnels and bridges still retain the bricks from yesteryears. These remnants of the past infuse the ride with a unique charm. For those seeking a seamless cycling experience, a bicycle rental shop awaits just in front of Itoigawa Station, ensuring you have everything you need to revel in the spectacular scenery along the way.
