Tsubame-Sanjo is a town of craftsmanship, having long prospered through the manufacturing of knives, dinnerware, and more. Being home to many professional knife sharpeners and other craftspeople specializing in metalware, it is considered one of Japan’s main hubs of metalworking.
The Kouba no Saiten festival has been held in Tsubame-Sanjo for more than ten years. Visitors can see the skills of craftspeople up close, and 2023’s rendition will be filled with even more fascinating activities! 87 workshops will participate, offering workshop tours, talking sessions with businesses, craftspeople, and creators, exhibits of famous products from the Tsubame-Sanjo area, and more!
