Experience a captivating spectacle of diverse and gigantic fireworks, including the moving Fireworks of Prayer, drawing in a million spectators!

This mesmerizing fireworks display unfolds along the banks of the Shinano River, with spectator seats available to enjoy the show. Over the night, a spectacular variety of fireworks illuminate the sky, including the breathtaking Sho-sanjakudama, with a colossal 650-meter diameter burst, and the 2-kilometer Phoenix, which is dedicated to prayers of recovery.

Its roots trace back to a festival held in commemoration of the lives lost in the August 1, 1945 Nagaoka Air Raid, praying for the city’s recovery. This legacy has been passed down over the decades, imbued with the hopes of locals. It is one of Japan's most beloved fireworks festivals, drawing over a million annual spectators across its two-day celebration.
