A cute love story made of the double-seat ski lift
Update:2011.02.14
In 1950, a ski lift was installed in the ski slopes in Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture with the permission of the national transportation authority. There was a cute story made of the double-seat ski lift.
Story told by the lift operating company
We received one letter from a young man who lived in Tokyo in June 1956. He wrote;
“I visited Akakura ski resort in Myoko City for skiing in February and took a double-seat ski lift. The length of a lift ride is 1,300 meters in 15 minutes. I shared the seats with a young lady at that time and we had a nice chat during the 15 minutes ride. I found out that the lady is also from Tokyo. After going back to Tokyo, we met several times and we got along really well. We recently got married.”
He closed his letter by extending his appreciation for us offering him a chance. All of our staff were very happy about this cute letter he sent us and we sent a congratulations letter back to him immediately. We wrote;
“The ski lift you took was operated with 22mm thick strong iron wires. You and your wife were connected thanks to these strong iron wires. Your relationship is very solid, the same as the wires of the lift and will never been broken. We all wish for you the happiest life and are looking forward to seeing both of you together again in Myoko this winter. We are very happy to offer you, a happy couple, a lift ride free of charge.”
