There are around 4,000 cherry blossom trees, lit up by 3,000 paper lanterns. The illuminated, 3-tier turret of Takada Castle reflected in the moat captivates visitors. Sakura Road is a path lined with sakura (cherry blossoms) that are lit up and is a must-see. There will be a variety of events held.

Step into a sprawling area with 1.5 million tulips and experience the arrival of spring. Gosen’s Sumoto region has sandy soil, making it a good place for growing tulips. Bulbs from Holland were recently imported to grow new kinds, giving the festival a wide variety of blossoms.

Niigata Prefecture produces the most cut tulips in Japan. This festival takes place on 2 hectares of fields and has 800,000 tulips of approximately 60 different kinds and of many different colors. This colorful expanse of flowers under the spring sky is a great time for families and lovers alike.

Including the hina dolls passed down in the homes of Murakami’s castle town, there are around 4,000 dolls on display in around 80 homes. Enjoy a pleasant stroll while you check out the historic merchant homes and the dolls.
