During these festivals, houses are opened to the public exhibiting hina dolls and folding screens that have been passed down through the generations. Stroll about the historic town while enjoying the city’s ancestral heirlooms.

Echigo- Sekikawa Giant Snake FestivalA festival connected with a local legend about a man who fought a giant snake. A procession winds through the village holding a 82.8 meter long, 2 ton snake made of grass and bamboo. The snake has been certified as the longest in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records.
