A mesmerizing snow festival with the warm flickering lights of lanterns in one of the world's snowiest areas.

The Tsunan Snow Festival & SNOWWAVE generally takes place in mid-March in Tsunan, one of the world’s snowiest regions, and presents a wide range of unique snow-based experiences. The sky is illuminated by floating lanterns at New Greenpia Tsunan, with food stalls and the SNOW WAVE snowboard straight jump competition to boot. The Oowarino venue, located in the city center, has numerous stalls where visitors can relish delicious food and drinks.

Festivities kick off around 11:30 am, and the sky lanterns take flight at approximately 7:00 pm.

Directions●The Owarino venue is an approx. 25 min. walk from Tsunan Station (JR Iiyama Line).
●To reach New Greenpia Tsunan, take a direct shuttle bus (fee required) from Tsunan Station or from in front of Tsunan Town Hall.
Car ParkAdvance tickets are necessary for parking.
Prices●Free admission.
●Advance tickets include one sky lantern, parking for one regular or light car, and a 500 yen coupon for stalls at New Greenpia Tsunan on the day of the Snow Festival.
NotesSky Lantern Launch Details:
・Please purchase a ticket to participate in the sky lantern launch.

・Elementary school students and older children can participate in the sky lantern launch with an adult.
・Each ticket grants one sky lantern and one parking space.
・The sky lantern launch takes place at New Greenpia Tsunan. Depending on the ticket type, you may need to use a shuttle bus (available for an onsite fee) to reach it after parking.
・Tickets include a sky lantern voucher and parking pass. Even if you are not using the parking lot, you must still purchase a ticket for the sky lantern launch.
・Tickets will not be available on the event day, so please apply in advance. For additional ticket details, consult the "Types of Tickets" and "How to Purchase Tickets" sections on the official website (Japanese only).
